Regional & Rural Development

Research in regional economics and rural development examines the factors that drive economic development at the local level (city, county, or MSA). Researchers seek to explain the demographics, geographic and natural resource characteristics, and policies that lead one region to grow faster than another. The research can help a region to develop policies or strategies to promote more local economic development. This field also includes economic impact analysis of policies, events or projects.
