For so many people like me, having a home of my own is a dream, and keeping our homes and loved ones safe and sound is utmost important. Flood and other natural hazards threaten our homes and businesses every year. My research is focused on finding best ways to improve flood resiliency for communities that are willing to mitigate the flood risk and its hazards. In the US, the national flood insurance program (NFIP) provides flood insurance. Community rating system (CRS) is a program that credits the activities conducted by NFIP communities, reducing the flood risk and damage. In my research, I am studying the CRS series of activities and elements that maximize the benefits for the communities and are associated with the flood hazard mitigation and fatality rate.

My interests are in applied econometrics, behavioral, health, environmental and natural resources economics.  I am seeking research opportunities to make a positive impact on people's lives and the environment.
