With a major in Environmental Economics and Management, you can help create a more sustainable world with a unique perspective that intersects economics, business, and environmental sciences and trains you to understand the economic and non-economic aspects of resource and environmental issues.

The world needs sustainable leaders with expertise in science, policy, and economics, and you can serve effectively as members of interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans for wise, efficient, and productive management of natural resources. Some of our core classes include Environmental Economics, Resource Economics, Environmental Law, and Environmental Management and Sustainable Practices, which provide you with the background necessary to work closely with professionals from broad fields.

Degree Requirements

Our Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (B.S.E.S.) in Environmental Economics and Management requires at least 120 credit hours, which include UGA foundation courses, CAES core, major requirements, and major and general electives. Students must also complete at least one experiential learning experience, such as an internship, service, or study abroad, to broaden their experience. During the semester, most students take four to five courses totaling twelve (12) to fifteen (15) credit hours.
