First Year Admissions
Applying to the University of Georgia
Our department offers interdisciplinary programs in Agribusiness, Agricultural and Applied Economics, Environmental Economics and Management, and Hospitality and Food Industry Management that combine a business-focused curriculum with a diverse set of disciplines for your interests. With a flexible curriculum, a tight-knit college experience, and a wide range of courses, our academic programs are a smart choice for students pursuing careers in business, hospitality, policy, or law.
You can take advantage of our department's learning opportunities, including internships, research, and study abroad, to apply the knowledge and skills you develop in courses taught by world-class faculty. At the same time, student organizations within the department and the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, like the Environmental Economics Club, let students get more involved in our community!
First-Year Admissions
To enroll in all majors offered by the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics, you must first apply to the University of Georgia through the first-year application process. You may choose to apply for Early Action or Regular Decision.
Early Action
Early Action has an application deadline of October 15th and allows you to know your decision sooner. During Early Action, students can be admitted, deferred, or denied. A deferred decision, which a majority of Early Action applicants receive, means you will receive a final admission decision during the Regular Decision timeline.
Regular Decision
Regular Decision has an application deadline of January 1st, with the decisions being typically released in mid-March. Regular Decision is a great option for students who need more time to improve their application with fall grades, test scores, or extracurricular accomplishments. During Regular Decision, students can be admitted, waitlisted, or denied.
Transfer Plan
Students interested in applying to the University of Georgia's College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) with existing college credits (including dual enrollment credits) are encouraged to request a transfer plan with the College. Completing this form will connect you with a CAES academic advisor who will provide guidance on coursework to take at your current institution to best prepare you to transfer into the University of Georgia.
