Network with the Rising Stars

In February, the HFIM program hosted its annual Network with the Rising Stars event, where industry leaders across Athens and the state joined the hospitality students on campus at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel. During the event, new members of Eta Sigma Delta were recognized, and students had a valuable opportunity to network with visiting industry leaders.

Marriott Visit to HFIM

This semester, Hayley Rice, a Marriott International Recruiter, and Morgan Arthur, a UGA HFIM Student Ambassador, visited hospitality students at the department to speak about their experiences with Marriott and shared opportunities at Marriott for HFIM students through its university programs.

HFIM Class visit to Benson's Hospitality Group

HFIM Visit to Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel

Students in the Introduction to Hospitality and Food Industry Management course visited the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel to experience the importance and role of hospitality on the University of Georgia's campus.

HFIM Visit to IHG

This March, Dr. Julie Jung and HFIM students visited the IHG Design and Innovation Center and the InterContinental Hotel in Buckhead Atlanta. During the trip, students experienced the behind-the-scenes aspects of hospitality and heard from industry professionals and leaders, including Rachel Eck, an HFIM alum, and Manuel Deisen, the General Manager at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead.
