Travel and International Impacts
The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics began in January 1928 and as we begin building the excitement for our 100th anniversary, we are proud to showcase our faculty, staff, and students' travel and impacts to Georgia, the nation, and the world. With four new faculty members starting this fall (read more about them in the “New and Upcoming” link), the department will have a total of 28 faculty in Athens, Griffin, and Tifton. Our faculty are conducting research throughout Georgia and abroad to provide new and innovative ways to enhance the profitability of the agricultural, agribusiness, and food and hospitality industries while sustainably managing natural resources and protecting the environment and wealth for future generations.
Consistent with our mission and aligned with our instructional programs, our research areas include:
- Agricultural price and commodity market analysis
- Resource economics including coastal and marine ecosystems
- Food demand, impacts, and agricultural policies
- Environment and sustainability
