He has published extensively on a variety of applied topics including rural transformation, migration, technology adoption, health insurance, impacts of COVID-19, and more.  Much of his research evaluates the economic impacts of programs and policies aimed at improving the lives of rural populations. He uses both econometric and structural modeling methodologies to shed light on those issues. His most recent focus countries have been Ethiopia, China, and Myanmar.
