Departmental Events

The Georgia Railroad Freight Depot was buzzing on February 21st at the inaugural CAES Field to Table Event. During the event, AAEC's own Dr. Michael Adjemian presented his research-backed findings on food prices as Georgian farmers face inflation, rising costs, and potential retaliatory tariffs. Guest speakers Chris Butts (Executive Director--Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association) and Brad Arnold (Senior Vice President and General Manager--Precision AGCO) expressed their views on current market conditions as well from a first-hand perspective. After his presentation, the speakers participated in a panel discsussion taking questions from the crowd and later mingled to discuss thoughts more personally. This event was a fantastic opportunity for our 30 current students in attendance to meet with our alumni, and we look forward to hosting Field to Table in the future.

On April 17th we hosted our Annual Spring Awards Ceremony, Conner Connects, to celebrate our students and faculty at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel. At the event we celebrated the Department's scholarship recipients, outstanding Juniors and Seniors from each major and graduate program, as well as the Outstanding Faculty and Staff members as voted by the Graduate Student Association. Thank you to everyone who came and we look forward to seeing you next year. Finally, thank you for the generous support from our donors--without which, we would not be able to celebrate so many amazing accomplishments.
